Ron Hextall Career Highlights Music Video
This video was never part of the show, but here at Generation X Live! we love hockey and the violence that comes with it. Nobody did them both better than Ron Hextall. He was probably the most complete goaltender ever to play. From stopping the puck, to his handling of it, so scoring to intimidating the opposing players, and probably being the first goalie to cause teams to change their game plans to keep the puck away from him. To this day we miss his presence in the crease and the music he made on the pipes. This is my little tribute to him. Thanks for the memories Ron! Thanks, GenX…loved Hextall…a true Philadelphia warrior….only wished he could’ve won the Cup…i’ll never forget the look of anguish on his face as he received the Conn Smythe Trophy after Game 7 of the 87 Finals….

not to sound like a asswhole, but so did Martin Brodeur, who is at the same level as Hextall skill wise, Hex was just more aggressive. But since i am a flyers fan, i am with Ron.

It has been real fun seeing everyone’s responses to it that have never heard of him or had the opportunity to see him play. I have thought about making another one but I do not think I could ever top it.

Hextall reminds me of Randy Marsh from south park, the episode when they were in little league and he was the drunken fighter dad, always saying “Whaddaya wanna do huh?”

Tim Thomas is about the only thing comparable to Hextall today, and he only has a fraction of the hotheadedness. But Thomas is still a helluva lot of fun to watch, just as Hextall was.
